Take a breath
Nowadays when we think about movement and mobility, we often just think about how to make it more efficient and seamless. We forget that taking a moment to ourselves, to reflect and breath, is good for both our mental and physical health. Reflecting on our actions is also one of the main ways of learning how to improve and be more empathic. Unfortunately, travel has to be quick, external and interior pressure force us to spend our time efficiently.
Experience
Interlude is an interactive art installation that will focus on taking someone out of their daily pattern, and unconsciously give them this moment to themselves. The experience will be in a public space, for example, a train station and will present them with a completely unexpected shape and object. When they approach, the installation will isolate them from outside sounds and begin showing light from deep within.
Light will begin responding to the heart beat pattern of the user, thus showing his/her level of stress. Unconsciously the user will get linked to the installation, following the slow pulse and audio feedback into a state of relaxation. The design of the installation, based on the Fibonacci sequence, is also a way to give people a sense of reconnecting with themselves.
